In order to know the stages reached by the transportation projects in Iraq and plans for that we met with Minister of Transport Hadi al-Amiri, who opened the interview by saying:

"From our priorities this year, the subject of Iraqi ports, the most important design is to complete the port of Faw, and this year we will begin the execution of the breakwater, which is a major port, and this year we will start to buy excavator to start digging the harbor basin and we will make every effort drilling process

He added, "Another subject that we attach great importance to this year is to develop the current port and we have an interview with Japanese companies to develop a developmental plan for all Iraqi ports and mechanisms developed and the priorities of the development of these ports as well as in airports, we have a contract with the French company (adb), a company specializing in the subject airports and asked them to put persistently developmental plan for airports of Iraq, especially Baghdad airport, Basra and Mosul, and the development priorities of the development of these airports and what should be done during the coming years. "

As for the issue of transport road, A’amiry said, "As  for the other rail, which we believe that the railways, of important issues, and our new projects in the rail set up the line of rail eastern line which starts at the FAO, Basra and Amara with the length of 1200 kilometers through in Basrah and Baghdad, Baquba, Kirkuk , and Mosul, and Erbil, Dohuk, quickly to the Turkish border 250 kilometers per hour, a double and electric

As for the projects announced by the former to link Iraq railway link with other countries, and the extent of what came to him, following the A’amiry "rail with great regret is sophisticated, yes we have to link through Syria of Rabia in Mosul and Turkey, and of course these lines are very old and need to rehabilitation, we are now making great efforts for the rehabilitation of the railway, which extends from Basra to Baghdad to Mosul and then to Syria, Turkey, and are making great efforts to re-develop and now we have the intention to link the new with Turkey over Mosul, Dohuk and Zakho to Jordan. "

He said Minister of Transport, "We have the intention to create a line of railway with Iran is also linked from Basra, the southern region of Iran, I think in case of the railway link, there will be a good move to pass through Iraq, and there is an intention to implement the  railway  link with the Gulf States, and now there is a project adopted by the World Bank , and we are excited about it and called the project for linking the Levant including  Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Palestine and we will make efforts to gain access to its application. "
