Shafaq News / The Kurdistan Regional Government announced on Thursday that, a year since its formation, it had completed several "important" projects in the field of roads and bridges in different regions of the region.

The Provincial Parliament's Reconstruction and Investment Committee accused the government of not completing any project in the field of roads and bridges.

Government spokesman Gotiar Adel said in a statement today that those who do not set their sights on the government's current service projects are striving, through misleading statements, to mobilize public opinion and exploit citizens' sympathy.

He added that according to the statistics of the Ministry of Construction and Housing for July 2019 and until the same month of 2020, 22 projects were implemented in the field of roads, at a financial cost of 110,791,000,000 dinars.

Adel explained that the ministry is overseeing the completion of 69 road projects with a budget of 2,475,868,000,000 dinars.

The spokesman noted that the Ministry of Construction and Housing embarked on a rapid campaign to maintain roads between cities, and within 70 days it was able to complete 79 projects at a cost of more than 42 billion dinars in Erbil, Duhok and Al-Sulaymaniyah governorates.

Adel continued by saying that the Government, despite the difficult financial situation, continues to complete its projects, stressing that all of them will be completed.
