Shafaq News / On Monday, Lalish Yazidi Center accused the Federal Government of being responsible for “the complicated situation" and "chaos of arms" in the Sinjar district, Nineveh.

In a statement received by Shafaq news agency the center said: “On the sixth anniversary of the Yazidi genocide, about 2,800 are still missing, tens of thousands have fled to Europe, America, Australia to escape uncertain future due to the propagation of extremist religious movement in the Middle East, including Iraq.”

“We are fully aware that if Yazidis were allowed to emigrate, hundreds of thousands would leave, because of the lack of confidence in their future. They have the right to work and to protect their families from danger, meanwhile governments turn a blind eye to extreme religious speeches for known reasons and interests”, it said.

Lalish Center demanded the Iraqi government to:

Resolve the chaos of weapons in all of Sinjar

Remove both Iraqis and foreign armed groups

Make an agreement between the Iraqi Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Peshmerga, in coordination with Sinjar people, on the managing of the situation

Put a limit to the foreigners named by force to hold administrative positions

On 3 August 2014, ISIS invaded Sinjar and took control of the area until the following year, when the Peshmerga expel the organization.

According to Yazidi officials, during the first day ISIS killed 1293 people, and kidnapped about 6 thousand, including around 3,000 women and girls. Moreover, despite ISIS defeat in 2017, about 2,800 Yazidis are still missing.
