Shafaq News / On Monday, the representative of the Yezidis in the Iraqi parliament considered that Sinjar is the only Iraqi district that complains of "duplication," noting that there is no administrative, security and service stability in it.

The parliament member Saeb Khadr said, “We are commemorating the 6th anniversary of the occupation of Sinjar and neighboring governorates by ISIS, and the genocide committed by the organization against Yezidis which resulted in the killing and kidnapping of thousands of women and children.

He added that "more than four years have passed since the liberation of Sinjar from ISIS, but it remains unstable, in administration, security and service," stressing that "this has led to societal instability and the difficulty of returning of displaced and providing services to them”.

"From Six years, we are demanding from all parties to find practical solutions to preserve these distinctive ethnic Iraqis, some of the demands to name a moderate, independent, Yezidi district Kaimakam and neutralize Sinjar from local and regional conflicts, but of no avail."

Khadr added, "The survival of Yezidis and the rest of the minorities in Iraq is a force, and that maintaining them is the responsibility of the government and all authorities."

He pointed out, "The necessity of achieving justice and holding accountable all those who committed and caused this genocide towards the Yezidis and compensating the families of the victims and the affected," stressing that "Yezidis should have a representation in the country’s institutions, especially in the areas where they represent a majority to enhance their confidence in their homeland and support stability in their regions."
