Shafaq News / The administrator of Kani Masi sub-district of Imadiyah district, Dohuk governorate, said today, Wednesday, that Turkish air-forces launched airstrikes on a village in the district.

Serbest Akrawi told Shafaq News agency, "Turkish drones and warplanes carried out today nine airstrikes on a site near the village of Kana Muzn in the sub-district".

Akrawi explained, "The bombing caused material damage to the houses of the citizens," noting that, "the windows of the houses were shattered and panic spread among the citizens of the village".

Eyewitnesses told Shafaq News agency that the area targeted by the bombing is only a few hundred meters away from downtown, explaining that it is a "strategic area in which tunnels of PKK militants might be".

Turkish aerial and artillery forces have been intensively bombing border areas in Kurdistan Region since June 21, 2020, under the pretext of the presence of anti-Ankara Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) fighters.

The attacks led to human and material losses in border villages in Kurdistan Region, which prompted the regional government's condemnation and the Iraqi government's summoning of Turkey's ambassador to Baghdad more than once.

For years, the Turkish army has been carrying out military operations against Kurdish militants, whom it considers terrorists, in response to attacks carried out or planned by PKK militants.
