Shafaq news/ Outrage over the film and its controversial scenes caused the hashtag #CancelNetflix to trend on social media on Thursday, with users calling on others to boycott the streaming service in protest.

The "Fox Business" site said subscribers respond quickly to the boycotting Netflix campaign on Twitter and some decided to leave it in protest against “Cuties”, the movie that sexually affects the children.

The global research company "YipitData" said recently told Fox Business that Netflix’s churn numbers — which refers to the number of people who drop the subscription service — has increased significantly since the film’s release.

In fact, the churn has reached a multi-year high that was about eight times higher than back in August, Fox Business reported.

YipitData believes that Netflix's difficulties may continue in the coming days, especially after an online petition against the movie has registered more than 600,000 signatures since Monday

Directed by Maïmouna Doucouré, Cuties is a coming-of-age story centered on an 11-year-old Muslim Senegalese migrant named Amy who lives in Paris. She joins an informal hip-hop dance troupe with her friends, and they perform together on social media.

A Netflix spokeswoman said in a statement to AFP that "Cuties" " is a social commentary against the sexualization of young children.
